Hello, this is my blog. Here, on my little space in the online world, I will be writing blog posts ranging from my favourite beauty tricks to improving productivity and mental health .
I hope you enjoy reading my blog – ma vie en rose, meaning my life in pink – because everyone needs a bit of pink in their life! Unless you hate the colour pink, then that might be a bit of a bad idea…
Helloooo everybody! So, today’s post is going to be all about skincarrreeeee. I have been watching so many Skincare by Hyram videos so my mind is very much focused on all things skincare. Jeez how many times can I say skincare in one post…
My skin is soo problematic especially since quarantine started and it is actually a big insecurity of mine. Therefore, I have been doing literally anything and everything to try and make it better, and that is how I have learnt these tips that I am going to share with you. You probably already know them, but if you didn’t you’re welcome 😉 Let’s goooo…
Okay so one of the most famous skincare tips is to sleep on a clean pillow. But I don’t have the time and or effort to wash my pillowcase every night, or the money to buy six more pillowcases. Though, I guess you could turn your pillow over so one pillow case actually counts for two so you need to buy one two plus four carry the six minus five… *brain goes into confusion*. Anyways, yes so instead of swapping out pillowcases I started using a blanket as a pillow haha. Blankets are obviously a lot bigger than pillowcases therfore you aren’t sleeping on the same section of the blanket every night and this ensures that you are not sleeping on the same bacteria and gross dirt every night.
Another famous tip is to make sure you’re cleaning your phone because it can harvest a lot of bacteria which you then out on your face. But I feel like it’s important to mention that you should clean laptop keys, pens and pencils, door handles and anything you touch very regularly throughout the day. This just cuts down the amount of bacteria that’s going onto your lovely skin (though cleaning your phone is probably most important so do that).
Thirdlyyy, everyone knows touching your face is bad for your skin, but also it’s important to keep your hair from touching your face as well. This is because your hair products that are on your hair, can then spread onto your skin and irritate it which we do not want!
Use good products! A product I bought recently is The Ordinary Niacinamide and I already notice a difference, so I would highly recommend this product. Also, it’s important to know what a good product looks like and this is one that doesn’t have fragrance in and also doesn’t have a high concentration of stripping alcohols (if it’s near the top of the ingredients list that means it’s in high concentration). Oh and make sure you’re using the best products for your skin type.
Finallyyyy, watch Skincare by Hyram on youtube (click here for a link to his channel). He is so amazing at narrowing down the best products and best ways to achieve good skin.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, thankyou for reading! What are your best skincare tips?
Helloooo, welcome to another post! So, it’s Sunday tomorrow, and you know what that means (hint it’s in the title)…it’s time for our self-care day. It’s so important especially in these times to put away time dedicated to making yourself feel good. Let’s gooo…
Step one: wake up at a reasonable time. You may think sleeping in till the early hours of the afternoon will make you feel well-rested and energized, but it will probably make you feel more groggy and tired. I’ve found this app called ‘Alarmy’ is so great at waking you in a gentle way and it also has a task that you do to stop the alarm like a memorise game. Also, to wake up at a reasonable time, you need to go to sleep at a reasonable time, a good nights sleep is soo important for your mental health it’s like creating a sturdy foundation for the day. A good tip for after you’ve woken up is to drink a cold glass of water, because the grogginess you feel when you wake up is most likely linked to dehydration! So hydrate and feel great (ew cringe).
Step two: Exercise… sorry. But this dreaded task does not have to be something terrible, find something fun to do! Or you could perhaps order some cute workout clothes in advance (like I’ve just done, sorry bank) and this will make you more motivated. It’s like when you have a cute outfit for school and it makes you more excited to go.
Step three: A ‘deep cleanse’ shower. This is what my best friend and I have named that type of shower where you do all of the good stuff, like hair masks, face masks, exfoliating, moisturising… the list goes on. These showers just make you feel brand new again, which is a feeling that is a requirement for a self-care day.
Step four: Social interaction- something that is limited in these times. Feeling lonely or perhaps isolated can be such a negative contribution to your mental health which is why I think it’s so important to maybe meet up with your friends for a socially distanced picnic (click here for a link to my post on this hehe), or facetime someone you love and have a good old chinwag. Obviously if you feel you need some alone time instead that’s great; spend time with your self by maybe reading a book or doing a hobby like dancing in your room to Harry Styles (yes that is a hobby in my opinion).
Step five: After eating some of your favorite food, it is then time for a peaceful and relaxing night time routine. Have some quiet time by maybe doing a meditation or perhaps some yoga or even writing in a journal or something. You could also spend some time reading positive and inspirational quotes just to gain a mindset that will basically enable you to feel happy. It’s very important to have this time to relax to really feel like you’re making yourself feel great again.
Finally, here’s some youtube videos that I recommend watching that will help you with this day of self-care haha.
Helloooo! Thankyou so much to Arts&Ave from the Girls Glow up Blog for nominating me for the Mystery Blogger Award! I am a very small blogger so this feels great! Click here for a link to her amazingggg blog!
So, now it’s time for me to tell you three things about myself. Here goes!
My name is Rose! Haha I don’t think I have ever mentioned that
I live in England- yes it is currently raining
My favourite colour is… drum roll please (like you haven’t guessed) PINK!
Hope you enjoyed those facts, because now it is time to get to know me a bit more as I answer Ave’s questions…
your best study tips? Well firstly, I find it really helpful to have an exact set out plan for what I’m going to do, not just say oh I will revise Biology today. Instead I say right so I will do five minutes of reading page blah blah, then 15 minutes of notes and then half an hour of questions, this really helps and makes the time go by faster! Next, I make sure I have a clean, quiet and organised environment with a bottle of water.
your favorite part of the day? Lunch time! This when I have completed my school work and exercise and violin so I just get to sit back and watch Netflix while eating haha.
your favorite book? A Good Girls Guide to Murder and it’s sequel! If you like mystery books these ones are soooo good, literally could not put them down. Click here for a link to the first one.
top three things you’ve learnt during quarantine? That lazing around in bed on tiktok does not make me feel relaxed, but having a peaceful bath and watching tv with my family does! I like listening to audiobooks, and exercise isn’t soo bad.
if you have a new pet what would you name it and why? If I got a pet, it would definitely be a dog called Norman, because when I was little my favorite person was someone called Norman Wisdom who is an old comedy film actor who I loved. My friends don’t like the name but I do!
What’s your favorite book?
Who’s your favorite youtuber?
Best tips for a very small blogger like me?
Favorite inspirational quote?

THE CHAPTERS OF CONFIDENCE TAG!
This tag has been created by Hailey from the Sunshine and Rain, here’s a link to her blog – the link
So many people struggle with self-confidence and low self-esteem so I think it’s so amazing that Hailey has provided a way for us all to share our experiences on it! Also, thankyou again to Ave for nominating me xx
Use the same featured image for the tag.
Thank the blogger who nominated you, and pingback to the tag’s creator.
Talk about some ways that you have struggled with self confidence or esteem in the past, or things that have helped you with it.
Out of self love, and confidence, make a “List of you”. A list of however many things you’d like that you think make up the beautiful you! And end the “List of You” with a simple “I am (your name).”[The List of You is meant to boost your own confidence, and self esteem. It is not out of bragging, but simply out of self love and encouragement! It is okay to be proud of who you are, and to show that you believe you are beautiful!]
Nominate as many people in the tag as you want, spread the message of confidence to as many hearts as possible!
So, in most of my classes at school there was this group of girls who were all so sweet and lovely (they weren’t the ‘mean girls’ or anything), but they were all so confident and pretty and all of the things I guess I wished I was. Being surrounded by these girls everyday, really took a toll on me because I wanted to be like them so badly, but I just couldn’t. I was too shy to be as loud and confident as them. And obviously as you should of guessed, the boy I liked, was obsessed with one of these girls. So, that was hard, I felt like I wasn’t good enough. But now I realise that I am okay being exactly who I am, I may not be as confident and pretty but I have my own perks and that is perfectly fine.
My list of me…
I am considerate and kind. I am funny. I am loved. I am smart. I am determined. I am me, and that is something to be proud of!
Hellooo, hope you are doing well, today’s post is going to be centred around mental health. Firstly, I just want to say that there are no ‘five easy tips to get perfect mental health’; it’s a process and a journey. My mental health plummets at random times, I can be fine for a week and then suddenly I have a horrible feeling in my stomach and I feel lethargic and unmotivated. So, here’s the things that I do to help…
One of the most important things I feel aids my mental health is a good nights sleep. About a week ago, I was really struggling to sleep, I would lay awake until four am until I eventually drifted off. This battle between sleep and I, was mostly caused by the seeing all the terrible things that are going on in the world. So, I decided to devise a night routine that would be beneficial for me. This consists of a calming ‘bedtime drink’, maybe a meditation (I love the app Headspace) and an audiobook (I’m currently listening to the first harry potter).
Next, is to surround yourself with positivity. I’ve muted people’s Snapchat stories which only contain things that make me feel bad about myself. I’ve unsubscribed from Youtube channels which only show toxicity and I’ve unfollowed Instagram accounts which only incorporate unhelpful negativity.
The next thing that helps me is doing things that I have been putting off, because when there’s something I’m procrastinating, it weighs on my mind. For me this was violin practice which I have now started doing everyday (finally!).
I also do exercise. Exercise was something that loomed over me like a dark cloud. Until, I found fun things to do! On Sunday I did a tiktok dance workout from a Youtuber called Madfit! ‘”Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.” (Name the film hehe).
Finally, I’ve been trying to be more kind to myself. I’ve learnt there’s a difference between ‘I can’t be bothered to do something’ and ‘I can’t do something’. If you feel like your mind is preventing you from doing something, take care of it! Think of it like your leg, if your leg was hurting too much to go on a run for example, you wouldn’t go, as you don’t want to make the injury and pain worse. So, if your mind is hurting too much, rest it. Rest and self care is so important. I challenge you to have a self-care Sunday this week! If you want a blog post on that, it’s coming soon ;).
Thankyou for reading this post, I hope it has helped, in any way, shape or form. Stay safe and be kind to yourself!
Helloooo, so today was probably my favourite day of lockdown so far, because my three best friends and I had a picnic in my garden- social distancing of course. This was so (as I said to my mum) refreshing, as before I felt like I was stuck in an endless cycle of boredom haha. I also put quite a lot of effort in to make it a really lovely time as well this was the longest my friends and I had ever gone without seeing each other!
Step one: FOOD. A picnic is not a picnic without food (obviously). So here’s some ideas for the treats you could have/ should have.
-Jam tarts, mini brownies, mini chocolate rolls, ice creams, crisps, sweets like haribo strawbs and strawberry laces, Buenos, cake (which I baked) andddd chocolate covered strawberries!
I think it’s safe to say we all might have put on a few pounds…
Step two: DRINKS. A few of the most picnic esc drinks are- cloudy lemonade (or if your shop is sold out of it like mine was, then settle for fanta lemon), shloer and lemon water.
Step three: ACTIVITIES. Sorry to sound like a teacher organising a school trip. But it’s important to have fun things to do of course. My friends and I played cards, we played the game cheat, we played call my bluff, did a lil photoshoot and sunbathed.
Step four: MAKE IT LOOK CUTE. I arranged all the snacks in a visually pleasing way, which was ruined within five minutes by my greedy friend- kidding it was mostly me. I also put the water in this cute glass container that has a tap on the end haha, and put the other drinks and some of the snacks in a cooler box.
Step five: MAKE MEMORIES. Aka have fun! Don’t spend the time worrying about anything whether that’s people not having fun, not getting enough on your snapchat story or the pounds you may be putting on. If you want that sugary treat, go for it!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post, I don’t think I’ve taught you anything new but perhaps I’ve inspired you to have a socially distanced picnic with less than six friends in open air, as it’s now legal in the UK.
Stay safe and remember to do your bit for the important issues the world is currently facing.
Hellooo, so mornings. Being in lockdown has really made me realise how much a positive morning can impact the rest of your day. When I just have a lazy morning, staying in bed on my phone watching Netflix, the rest of the day is filled with me feeling groggy not productive or energetic. Mornings set the tone for the rest of the day. That’s why today, I thought I could give you a productive morning routine to follow along with or take inspiration from…
8:30 am – Wake up. I think 8:30 is a good time to wake up because it’s not really early like 5, 6 or 7 but it’s also not verging on waking up late and having a lazy day like 9 or 10. But of course get up at whatever time you like as long as you’re running on a good nights sleep.
As soon as I wake up, I don’t check my phone. I used to go straight onto social media which caused me to laze in bed watching tiktoks until hours have passed, which is not a great way to start the day. So now as soon as I wake up, I do a five minute meditation then pray. I have this bible quotes app on my phone which gives me an inspirations bible verse everyday.
9:00 am – exercise. I either go on a run or do some kind of you tube workout video.
9:30 am – check my phone. I do this while drinking a full bottle of nice cold water, well deserved after my workout haha.
Then it’s time to shower. I always do dry brushing before I get into my shower because this helps to stimulate blood flow and I also always moisturise my body after a shower too. I want to preserve the tan I’ve suddenly got! After I am done in the bathroom, it’s time to get dressed and do a little bit of makeup. I always get dressed into a nice outfit because for some reason this just puts me in a better mood.
10:00 am – breakfast. Yogurt and fruit outside while reading my book. My favourite time of the morning.
11:00 am – this is when I do some school work. It’s currently half-term so I only do about an hour; just to have something to do really that isn’t watching friends.
And that is it. Or should I say voila! To fill the rest of the day I usually just read outside, go on a bike ride or a walk and just play sims haha.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and maybe it’s given you inspiration to have more productive mornings or maybe you already have a way more productive morning routine than me. Well done if you do, I wish I could be like you haha but I’m trying. But remember it’s completely OKAY to not be productive every day. On Sundays I have a nice lazy morning (and rest of the day hehe).
Hellooooo, today’s post is going to be my tips for lockdown. I live in England and we are currently in lockdown which means there are regulations to what we can do with our days basically. So, my original plan for today was to declutter my draws and wardrobe because they are such a mess, however the weather is so lovely, I don’t want to be cooped up inside sorting through my jumbled draws. Which leads me into my first tip…
1. Do NOT put pressure on yourself to be productive. The world is in a pandemic. That is a great excuse for giving yourself a break whenever you feel you need one. No one should feel like they are ‘wasting’ time by staying in bed all day. If that’s what you feel you need- do it!
2. Label the days. In normal life, I always have some kind of attachment to each day which makes them different from each other. For example, Mondays were well back to school and science revision after school, Tuesday was a gym day, Wednesday was dancing, Thursday was geography revision after school and Fridays were my violin lesson, and the best lesson of the week-PE, Saturdays were the day I would go to town and meet friends or my Grandma and finally Sundays were church day (sorry for that boring account of my old weekly schedule). But now all of those things don’t happen anymore, therefore all of the days blur into one which is not good for my sanity. Therefore, I’ve tried to label the days to prevent this. For example, Tuesdays are now the day where I cook dinner and bake a dessert, Wednesdays are for a at home facial and Sundays are the self-care day and family quiz! This just pretty much protects my sanity.
3. Set yourself a challenge. In normal life we are used to being challenged everyday with school or work tasks, but now they are non-existent. Therefore, I challenged myself by doing the couch to 5k. This is an app where it gives you nine weeks worth of runs to build yourself up to running 5k! I’m on the last week! It’s amazing because at the start I could run for one minute straight and now I’m up to thirty! That might not be a lot compared to some people (like my aunty ran 10k yesterday…how ??) but it’s a lot for me haha.
4. Next, is to make a routine. I have a morning routine which incorporates all the boring things I need to do like exercise and some work. This finishes at about half one so then I can do whatever I like the rest of the day, which is usually sims and Netflix. Doing this, helps me manage my time to be productive as well as doing the things I want to do.
5. Try and give yourself things to look forward to. This is hard because a family quiz is not exactly amazingly exciting compared to a holiday, but it helps. Every week I do a group facetime with my friends and family. Also, my household family and I have planned to have a garden party on the 5th June to celebrate mine and my sisters proms and the end to my other sisters university deadlines.
And there are all my tips for surviving lockdown, if you have any tips yourself leave them in the comments.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post (sorry it’s long, I have a lot of built in blog energy from the past year that needs to be released haha). Stay safe and social distance!
So, I was just sat in bed watching modern family (or should I say rewatching) and then I thought, ‘didn’t I used to have a blog.’ I know no one reads this haha but I used to have fun writing the posts, so I thought I would start writing them again! Lucky for you (if anyone is there).
A lot has changed since my last post over a year ago. My GCSES have been cancelled, corona virus craziness to sum it into three words and well I am now another year older and another year wiser.
I am struggling with lockdown, just because I feel like there’s nothing to look forward to. Holidays are cancelled, my harry styles concert was cancelled, prom is out the window and so is my favourite school trip. I know there’s worse problems I could be having but… I mean I could of been seeing harry styles.
I’m filling my days with running and some you tube workouts, a little bit of school work to stop my brain from dying, sims, baking and watching Netflix- my two favourite shows are Modern Family and Friends, oh and gossip girl but that one is more heavy on my mind; a lot happens on the Upper East Side.
Well, as soon as I think of a good blog idea, I will be right back. Hopefully, that’s not in a year…
And to anyone reading this: stay safe, social distance and smile! Smiling for 60 seconds straight can actually boost your mood.
Hello everyone! Happy 2019! I know we’re 27 days in already but to me February 1st is the real new year and January is just a practice month.
This month has been a bit of a rocky rollercoaster. I’ve cried a few ( a lot of ) times because I guess I’ve been stressed. I have worried about so many different things, it feels like my mind is about to explode! I need a day off from my thoughts.
So I need to do something about how I’m feeling, something to become happier!
And here is what I am going to do.
1. Live in the moment.
I know this is wayy easier said than done. Like wayyyyyy easier. But it is something I am going to try to do. Everytime I am worrying about the future or the past I am going to say to myself, ‘Worrying won’t change anything, but what will is positivity.’ The more time you’re living in the future or past, the less time you are spending in the present.
2. Ditch the toxic people.
Currently, I am ‘friends’ with someone who doesn’t do anything but make me feel bad. She makes me feel left out, in the wrong (even though I am not) or just sad. So why am I still hanging out with her? Well if I stop being friends with her it means I lose two of my best friends. Please give me some advice in the comments. But if you are going through a similar thing my advice would be to put your happiness first.
3. Do something you love / treat yourself EVERYDAY!
On Friday I bought myself a nutella donut from Krispy Kreme and it was the best decision I ever made as I knew I’d earned those moments of chocolate heaven. And that made me happy. Now I am not saying have a nutella donut everyday, just treat yourself. Whether that’s an hour of Netflix in bed with some hot chocolate, or a face mask or even a new pair of cozy socks. Do something that you know will make you happy.
4. Tidy your room.
Now I don’t mean to sound like a nagging parent, however it is genuinely (maybe) scientifically proven that a tidy space will make you feel more at ease. Make your bed everyday! Put your clothes away! Vacuum!
5. Don’t waste your time.
Nothing makes me feel worse than lazing in bed all morning on my phone. Well, it feels relaxing when I am doing it however it makes me feel lazy and like I am wasting time. So if you are just sat watching you tube think to yourself, is there anything else I could be doing that is more productive or worthwhile. If the answer is yes, goooo do it!
Sorry this post has been a bit deep, but I did this to help myself as much as I did to help you! Have a wonderful and happy week.
Hello everyone! Welcome back to another post 💓 Today i’m going to be sharing my favourite things at the moment. I haven’t done a monthly favourites post in a while because it was a bit unrealistic that i was trying new products and clothes every month. So now, i will be uploading a favourites post every time i have some recommendable things to show you! Let’s go >>>
1. ATYPICAL. This is a commendable show on netflix, i really really love it and highly recommend checking it out.
2. I do have two makeup products to show you which are …
I love these two products — especially the concealer which is only £2.50!
3. Today i actually bought a new dressing gown and it is already a firm favourite 🙂
It is from Marks and Spencers and is truly the softest thing i have ever felt — i love!
4. So these two things i bought today as well..
and i can definitely say the vanilla pumpkin hand cream is now one of my favourite scents from the body shop 😍😍 The Vitamin E face wash i have not tried yet but i thought i’d show and keep you updated if it’s any good — i’ve heard some hype about the Vitamin E range 🙂
There we go, all my favourites at the moment! Have a lovely Sunday and i hope your first day of autumn is filled with Atypical, dressing gowns and vanilla pumpkin hand cream!
